Where it started

A decade spent working at sea

Before Marine Audio Visual existed, our founders spent the best part of a decade working aboard superyachts — operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the AV, IT, and electrical systems that keep a vessel running and its guests happy.

We worked across vessels of all sizes in some of the most demanding conditions imaginable — the Mediterranean in summer, the Caribbean in season, and long passages in between. That experience gave us a perspective that very few AV and IT suppliers in this industry have: we know what these systems need to do, because we've had to make them work when they weren't.

Where it started

We kept seeing the same problems

Year after year, we encountered the same frustrations: systems specified by people who had never worked aboard, products chosen for margin rather than performance, and suppliers who couldn't answer a technical question without calling someone else.

When something failed at sea — and things always fail at sea eventually — the gap between what the supplier promised and what the system delivered was the difference between a minor inconvenience and a genuine crisis.

Marine Audio Visual was founded to close that gap. To be the supplier we always wished existed when we were the ones keeping the systems running.

What we built

A different kind of AV supplier.

Marine Audio Visual supplies and specifies AV, IT, automation, and control systems for superyachts and luxury residential properties — with the same rigour we'd apply if we were the ones who had to live with the result.

We carry carefully curated stock of the brands that actually perform in marine environments. We ship worldwide to yards, marinas, and properties. We provide honest technical advice — and when ETOs need a spare part fast, we understand the urgency because we've been in that position ourselves.

We've also extended the same standards into luxury residential — because the clients who commission superyachts often have exceptional homes too, and they deserve the same level of expertise.

We recommend what's right for the project, not what carries the best margin. If a simpler or cheaper solution genuinely works better, we'll tell you — because our reputation depends on the system performing, not just being sold.

Every product we stock has been selected for real-world marine performance — salt air, vibration, humidity, and the reality of being serviced anywhere in the world. We don't carry products we wouldn't want on a vessel ourselves.

No question is too small

From a complex new build specification to a single spare HDMI cable needed urgently in the Bahamas — we treat every enquiry with the same seriousness. We know that at sea, the small things can matter as much as the big ones.

Speed when it matters

A yacht on a tight season schedule or an owner waiting for a system to work cannot wait weeks for a component. We maintain stock and move fast — because we understand what's at stake when something goes wrong mid-season.

Fraser Mooney

Co-Founder • AV and IT Specialist

Fraser spent a decade as an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) on superyachts, managing and maintaining AV, IT, navigation and electrical systems across vessels in some of the world's most demanding conditions. That first-hand experience underpins everything Marine Audio Visual does — from the products it stocks to the technical advice it provides.
